Help Our Snowman Stay Warm This Winter!

Brooks Resources is collecting winter clothing and supplies on behalf of Bend’s Community Center’s “Keep Them Warm” initiative. Help out a great cause and bring your gently used coats, hats, gloves and outdoor survival equipment to the downtown Brooks Resources office through December 22. All donated items will be distributed to needy and homeless families in Central Oregon.

According to Taffy Gleason, executive director of BCC, "Winter is an especially critical time to help the hungry and homeless. Weather can be harsh in Central Oregon. We do our best to offer good quality camping gear and warm, dry clothing and bedding. What we give may be the difference between survival, and ending up in the hospital because of sickness or frostbite."

Warm clothing items needed include long underwear (no cotton please), heavy socks, gloves, mittens, hats, wool pants and ski bibs. Survival gear items include propane cylinders, tents, tarps, bungee cords, camp stoves, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, cookware, matches, candles or anything camping related. Look in your garage to see what camping items you no longer need.

Donations can be delivered to 409 NW Franklin Avenue, Bend, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Call us at 541-382-1662 if you have questions.
