Miller's Landing, a townhome project being developed by Millbrook, LLC, received approval from City of Bend Hearings Officer Tim Elliott last month. The 37 two and three bedroom townhomes on the Deschutes River near the Colorado Bridge will range in size from 1275 to 2100 square feet. Millbrook plans to begin site construction in approximately 45 days, with construction on the buildings commencing in late fall of this year. The townhomes were designed by Steele Associates Architects of Bend.
"This project represents a unique partnership between Miller Lumber Riverside, LLC and Brooks Resources," said Kirk Schueler, President of Brooks Resources Corporation. "We are pleased to have the green light from the City to begin construction on the Miller's Landing project and provide hard-to-find riverfront townhomes to the marketplace."
Last year, the company spent close to $50,000 performing riparian restoration work along the Deschutes River that fronts the property. Millbrook solicited the assistance of the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council to restore native plants, enhance in-stream fish habitat and reduce erosion along the riparian portions of the site.
On the edge of the Deschutes River in a historic area of Bend, Miller's Landing is a small collection of townhomes being developed by Millbrook, LLC a joint venture of Miller Lumber Riverside, LLC and Brooks Resources Corporation. Ten buildings will house a total of 37 townhomes, which range in size and features. The Miller's Landing site was historically used as stables for the draft horses that pulled the wagons delivering lumber from nearby mills, and has been vacant for approximately 40 years. Riparian restoration work done by Millbrook in 2005 helped to repair damage to the Deschutes River caused by nearly half a century of neglect. For more information, call 541.382.1662.
