Drake Design Group (DDG), the landscape architecture affiliate of Brooks Resources Corporation, today announced that it has completed a year-long project to create an extensive water feature for the Vista Rim community inside Eagle Crest. The acre-large project includes several creeks and streams that connect two main pond areas. The surrounding vegetation, such as fescue and sagebrush, has been restored to its natural state, creating an oasis for Vista Rim homeowners.
"For us, this project represents everything that we love about designing projects in Central Oregon," said Ron Kidder, Project Manager of Drake Design Group. "Our whole goal with the Vista Rim project was to create an area that appeared as natural as possible. To do this, we worked to preserve existing vegetation and restore the disturbed areas. In addition, we brought in some native riparian plants that will thrive around the water."
The project includes a complex system of pipes, pumps and filters to keep the ponds healthy by providing energy and cost efficient circulation. Appropriate plant selection and placement creates natural aquatic filtration zones to help maintain a healthy balance in the water system. The extensive new water feature provides a calming focal point for the Vista Rim community, while providing a habitat that will attract forest animals to the area.
